Our MFL students have been involved in a great number of creative activities this year.
In November 2023, a group of KS4 and KS5 students studying French went on a residential trip to France, in Normandy. We not only visited the famous Mont St Michel, and saw the Bayeux tapestry, but we also had a workshop on how to make bread and croissants in a bakery and we went to a goat’s cheese farm where we got to pet the goats and of course taste some delicious cheese! Definitely a great experience and this year we are going to visit Paris!

Teach your parents/guardians a phrase in the language you are studying?
Student had to research about the language that would be most helpful for their dream job.
Taha chose Spanish and made a great impression during Options evening.
‘’My dream job is to become a doctor, not because other people or society is wanting me or expecting me to do medicine. When I was young, I always liked helping people and making them feel better as it gave me a sense of happiness and meaning in this world. In addition, I knew people in my life who were severely sick and couldn’t make it and I felt helpless in not doing anything to help them. So, becoming a doctor would save people’s lives and making people not to worry for their loved one’s leaving this world so soon. The reason why I picked Spanish is because it would help me in the future to help the vulnerable people in Spanish speaking countries who don’t have access to hospitals or to medicines to give them a chance in life again.’’
Muchas gracias Taha.
