Christmas Card Competition – Winners 2020

January 18, 2022 09:03am

Well done to this year’s annual Christmas Card Competition winners!

Students were given the opportunity to submit their entries to be in with a chance of winning and having their Christmas card printed and used as the official Holcombe card that will be sent out to our Partners and various community links.

Many thanks to Mrs Mourino and Ms Laming for all of their efforts with organising the competition this year.

Well done, students, and well done also to all who participated.

First Place

Our winner this year was Ali in Year 8. His beautiful, extremely detailed 3D depiction of Holcombe at Christmas (pictured left) warmed the hearts of our judges and earned him first place.

We love how he captured the architecture of the school with his shading and clean lines, together with the addition of a snowman in front of the building creates a peaceful scene with a hint of Christmas magic.

Second Place

In second place this year was Orlando in Year 8 (his entry is pictured left). Orlando is a veteran artist in our Christmas card competitions, having also been one of the winners of last year’s Trust competition.

We are extremely proud of him and look forward to seeing his artistic journey progress further. His entry this year is bright and colourful, depicting the three wise men with their gifts.

Many thanks to Mrs Mourino and Ms Laming for all of their efforts with organising the competition this year.

Well done, students, and well done also to all who participated.

Third Place

Finally, in third place was Tom in Year 7. He has also taken inspiration from the front of the school, which he has placed within a snow globe – a really creative idea. The light colours depicted in colour pencil are amazing.

Below are our three winners with Mr Preston, proudly holding their prizes and entries.
