We are fortunate to have so many inspirational young people across the Thinking Schools Academy Trust achieving success in the communities they serve!
Andrea, who attends Holcombe Grammar School, was recently named a Lord Lieutenant Cadet (LLC) of Kent's Lord Lieutenant’s Cadets. This is the highest honour a cadet can be awarded, and it means they become ambassadors for their unit and service.
Lord Lieutenant Cadets are given new opportunities that are not available to others, such as becoming part of special occasions within their communities.
"I achieved LLC as over the past 4 years of my life as a Sea Cadet, I showed resilience as I worked hard and had to climb the ranks as a Cadet. I have accomplished many of my goals and done many things I would never have imagined myself doing," said LC Recchia.
This is an incredible achievement for Andrea, who joined the Sea Cadets in Year 7 and has stayed with his young unit, helping to steer cadets through all the activities and training. He rose through the ranks from New Entry to Leading Cadet and now Lord Lieutenant Cadet.
What makes LC Recchia stand apart is his sheer determination to succeed.
Over the four years that he has been part of the Sea Cadets, LC Recchia has proven himself to be a dedicated and hard worker. He attends regularly, leading, guiding, and now assisting with training younger cadets, and recently took the juniors for a weekend to gain their Young Leaders Award. He constantly shows his keenness for the Sea Cadets and is consistently adding to his experiences and qualifications.
Andrea participates in every available activity and recently spent a week on TS Royalist. He also participates in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, having previously achieved Bronze and recently completing Silver. He has been complimented for the constant improvement of his leadership skills, and with the help of the CVQO- BTec level 1 and the ILM level 2 in leadership, he has shown himself to be a good leader. This led to his promotion to Leading Cadet by the Area promotions board.
LC Recchia is an outstanding cadet who shows dedication, loyalty, and commitment to the unit, the staff, and most of all, the Cadets.
We couldn't be more proud of his achievements! Well done.
