Year 9 Options 2025

On Thursday 6th March 2025, between 5pm and 8pm, we will be holding our Year 9 Options Evening which aims to provide you with the opportunity to meet with all of your child’s subject teachers as well as those whom they haven’t had contact with in Key Stage 3. This will be an opportunity for you and your child to discuss subject content.

At the start of the evening Mr Preston, Headteacher, will hold a short presentation to set the scene and to ensure that all students are able to make fully informed decisions about the GCSE options available for them to study in Year 10.

After this your child will have a map indicating where all the subjects are situated as they will not necessarily be in their teaching rooms.

• Parents Evening - Thursday 23rd January 2025
• Year 9 Options assembly 1 – Monday 13th January 2025
• Year 9 issued draft recommendations for each subject Monday 13th January 2025
• Taster Sessions for some Non studied subjects
• Year 9 Options assembly 2 – Wednesday 5th February 2025
• Students will have an opportunity to access computer rooms where they can access Unifrog to research and inform them of career paths as well as ensuring that they can access their webcode for their option choices.
• Opportunities for Virtual Workshops on a range of careers have been shared with students
• Recommendations sent home week of 24th February 2025
• Online Options Booklet available for parents/students – Monday 24th February 2025
• Online Subject specific powerpoints available for parents/students – Monday 24th February 2025
• Online Booking System open for students and parents to access Wednesday 5th March 2025
• Options Evening for Parents and Students – Thursday 6th March 2025
• Options online form deadline – Monday 17th March 2025
• Opportunities for Virtual Workshops on a range of careers have been shared with students
