Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

This page provides information about Special Educational Needs and Disabilities support available for students attending Holcombe Grammar School.

Schools have a statutory responsibility to support all students within the school. This includes those students with special educational needs and is set out in the SEND Code of Practice (2015).  At Holcombe, we are very proud of the work of our SEND Department (‘The Haven’) and of our dedicated staff who strive to identify students with SEND, support their needs and review provision  for them on a regular basis.  The initial, and most effective, form of support for students with SEND is always to ensure the provision of quality first teaching within the classroom setting. Should you believe your child has a special educational need (ie where a pupil has a learning difficulty or disability requiring provision different from or additional to that normally available to people of the same age), you should contact the SEND Department: send@holcombegrammar.org.uk.
